Product Description

 North Finder – Technical Specification

1. Overview

The DP-Z001 North Finder (hereinafter referred to as "the instrument" or "the device") is an intelligent orientation instrument. It employs a high-precision gyroscope to acquire spatial 3-axis parameters and achieve automatic north-seeking.

2. Environmental Requirements

① Operating temperature: (0 ~ 40) ℃

② Humidity: ≤ 95%

③ Atmospheric pressure: (86 ~ 116) kPa

④ Storage temperature: (-40 ~ 60) ℃

⑤ Environment free from significant vibration and shock.

3. Technical Parameters

3.1 Operating Voltage and Current

① Operating voltage: (9 ~ 36) V DC

② Current: ≤ 0.5 A

3.2 Measurement Range

① Azimuth range: (0 ~ 360)°

② Pitch (tilt) angle range: (-90 ~ 90)°

③ Roll angle range: (-180 ~ 180)°

3.3 Basic Error

  • Azimuth error: ±0.3°

  • Pitch (tilt) angle error: ±0.1°

  • Roll angle error: ±0.1°

3.4 North-Seeking Time

≤ 180 s

3.5 Other Parameters

  • Tilt tolerance: During north-seeking on uneven hard ground, tilt ≤ 15°

4. Interface Definition

The MFN01L North Finder charging port and data output port adopt the electrical connector ZLN.102F.309.CLL.

5. Dimensions and Weight

① Dimensions: 100 mm × 80 mm × 70 mm (main housing)

② Weight: ≤ 0.8 kg

6. Instrument Usage Requirements

6.1 Operating Conditions and Precautions

Before use, the operator must carefully read this manual to fully understand the instrument's purpose, application scope, performance, and main technical indicators. Only then proceed with operation. The instrument should be regularly maintained as required to ensure measurement accuracy and service life.

6.2 Angle Measurement Procedure

Angle measurement consists of two main steps:

① Automatic North-Seeking: Power on the instrument and connect it to a computer via data cable. Launch the host PC software. Place the instrument as level as possible on a hard, stable surface at the measurement site. Once the instrument is firmly fixed, initiate north-seeking from the measurement interface. Wait patiently for the automatic north-seeking process to complete.

Caution: Do NOT move, shake, or disturb the instrument during north-seeking. Any vibration will cause inaccurate results or abnormal azimuth readings!

② Angle Measurement: After the pitch angle and azimuth values stabilize on the display, read the measurement values or save the angle data as needed.

6.3 Important Notices

① This instrument contains precision internal components. Handle with care. Do NOT collide, vibrate, drop, or strike the instrument!

② For best measurement accuracy, it is recommended to perform a new north-seeking cycle before each measurement session.

7. Operation Instructions

7.1 Key Functions

After launching the host PC software, the system initializes and enters the angle measurement interface (Figure 2). In the measurement interface, selecting "Return" and pressing the OK key returns to the main function menu (Figure 3). In the main interface, use the direction keys "▲" or "▼" to select functions, press "OK" to enter the corresponding function screen, or press "Return" to go back to the previous screen or function.

(Figure 2)(Figure 3)

7.3 Measurement Function

After normal power-on, the device enters the measurement interface by default (Figure 4). The measurement screen is divided into real-time measurement display area, north-seeking status, and function option display areas.
